Terms of Service

Last updated August 30, 2026.

This page describes how First Alarm Financial actually works today. It has not yet been reviewed by an attorney. If you have questions before relying on it, contact us at the address below.

Agreement

By creating an account or using First Alarm Financial ("the service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

What the service is

First Alarm Financial is a financial planning and budgeting tool built for firefighters and other shift-based professionals. It helps you track and project your pay, shift schedule, budget, savings, debt, and net worth based on the information you enter.

Not financial, tax, or legal advice

First Alarm Financial does not provide financial, tax, investment, or legal advice, and nothing in the service should be treated as such. Every projection, tax estimate, and pension calculation is an estimate based on the information you enter and simplified assumptions about tax brackets and formulas, not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional or your actual pay stub. Always confirm important numbers against your official pay records or a licensed advisor before making a financial decision.

Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old to use First Alarm Financial. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the accuracy of the information you enter. One person, one account: access codes and subscriptions are issued to a specific individual and are not transferable unless we state otherwise.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid access is offered as Monthly or Annual subscriptions, billed through our payment processor, Stripe, at the price shown at the time you subscribe.

Free trial. New subscriptions include a 7-day free trial. Your card is charged for the first billing period only after the trial ends, unless you cancel before then.

Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) until you cancel. We'll bill the same card on file unless you update it.

Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from your Account page's "Manage billing" link, which opens Stripe's secure billing portal. Canceling stops future renewal, but you keep access through the end of the period you already paid for; we don't cut off access the moment you cancel.

Refunds. See our Refund Policy.

Price changes. If we change subscription pricing, we'll give you notice before it affects your next renewal.

Beta status

First Alarm Financial is under active development. Features may change, and you may encounter bugs; we work to fix them quickly when reported.

Your data

Budgeting data you enter belongs to you. It's stored under your account in our database and cached in the browsers you sign in from. We recommend downloading your own backup file from Settings periodically. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.

Acceptable use

Don't use the service to break the law, attempt to access another user's account or data, interfere with the service's operation, or reverse-engineer the application beyond what's permitted by law.

Intellectual property

First Alarm Financial, its name, logo, and the design and code of the application belong to us. Your budgeting data belongs to you; using the service doesn't give us any ownership of the financial information you enter.

Service provided as-is

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any calculation will be accurate for your specific circumstances.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, First Alarm Financial and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including financial decisions made based on projections or estimates it produces. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Termination

You can stop using the service anytime. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, engages in abuse, or poses a security risk, and we'll try to give notice when we can.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes to these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
