Last updated August 30, 2026.
This policy applies to firstalarmfinancial.com and the First Alarm Financial dashboard, operated for firefighters and other shift-based professionals who use the service to plan their pay, budget, and finances. It does not cover third-party sites we link to.
When you create an account, we collect your email address and the password you choose (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase; we never see your password in plain text). During onboarding you may add profile details such as your first name, department, rank, and state.
The budgeting information you enter, including pay setup, shift schedule and calendar entries, expenses, debts, savings, goals, net worth figures, and investment accounts, is stored in our database under your account, protected by database-level access rules (Row Level Security) so that only your own login can read or write it. A copy is also cached in each browser you sign in from, so the app loads instantly and keeps working if your connection drops. This data is not end-to-end encrypted; it is protected by access controls, not by making it unreadable to us. You can download a full backup file at any time from Settings, and we recommend keeping one.
If you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment is processed by Stripe, a payment processor certified to the highest level of card industry security (PCI-DSS Level 1). We never see or store your full card number; Stripe's hosted checkout collects it directly. We do receive and store limited billing information from Stripe, such as your subscription plan, status, and renewal date, so we can manage your access to the dashboard.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers. We do not connect to your bank accounts or any outside financial institution; every number in the app is one you entered yourself. We do not run analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts of any kind on this site or in the dashboard.
We don't use cookies for tracking or advertising. The app uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to cache your budgeting data for speed and offline reliability. This is functional, not for tracking you across other sites.
We use a small number of service providers to run First Alarm Financial, each of whom can access only what they need to do their job, and none of whom may use your data for their own purposes:
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of First Alarm Financial or our users.
Our service providers primarily process and store data in the United States.
We keep your account and budgeting data for as long as your account is active. If you want your account and data deleted, contact us at the address below and we will process the request. Self-serve account deletion inside the app is planned but not yet built.
You can review and edit most of your information directly in the app. You can export a full backup of your budgeting data at any time from Settings. You can request deletion of your account and data, or ask us what information we hold about you, by contacting us.
First Alarm Financial is intended for working adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
